Handling Time and Stress
Sunday, November 22, 2009We must work the work of him who sent me.
John 9:4
People have a need for intimate communication. Aside from this, there is also a need for us to know how to handle the demands on our time. Jesus lived with a sense of purpose few understand. He never seemed to be in a hurry. He never traveled more than a few hundred miles altogether. Yet, Jesus revealed a secret that is indeed the answer to all of our time-and-stress-related problems today.
Everything that consumed Him–activities, travel, and relationships–He submitted to His Father. “Not my will, but yours be done,” Jesus prayed (Luke 22:42).
If we submit every aspect of our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, life will take on a new dimension. It’s then only a matter of determining what God would have us do at any given time. Most of us are trying to do more than God intends, but there is a better way–His way.
